Wash Bed Linen in Hot Water

There are many people who are vulnerable to allergies. Allergies are generally caused due to various suspended particles in the air such as pollen grains, dirt, and dander. These articles cause air borne allergies. Such an air borne allergy is hay fever. Many people in the world are affected by this allergy. This allergy if treated at the right time will not cause many problems but if not taken proper care then might cause serious circumstances. But it is always better to prevent it from happening rather than letting it to happen to us. We can do so by undertaking very simple steps and keeping our immediate environment clean.

How it helps

As we know that allergy is caused by dust and pollen grains so we must keep clean those things in which these particles take refuge. These particles are not visible to naked eye so it is vary hard to determine where these particles are and even harder to locate them so as to kill them. But just by applying a little bit of logic we can do that. Quite a good amount of dust travels into our houses daily and stick to the bed linens. It is estimated that the average bed has over 10,000 house dust mites living in it which results in there being over two million droppings. Thus when we sleep on the bed we are affected by these dusts which are present in those linens.

Also there are certain termites which cause allergies.

So to prevent these dusts and termites in the bed linens to cause allergies to us we have to take certain preventive steps. Wash colored bedding before use to remove loose dye. Wash all bedding at over 60 degrees. Washing the bed linen in hot water kills these dust mites because they cannot survive in such hot temperatures and thus they die. If the linen cannot be washed at a high temperature pop it in the freezer for a few hours and then wash at a lower temperature. Store bedding in breathable plastic bags. Cushions should be washed at 60 degrees every 3 months.

Conclusion

So it is always better to prevent the allergy from happening rather than to cure it.
