Use wet cloth for cleaning the house

Hay fever symptoms like sneezing, runny nose and red, itchy eyes are usually an indication of airborne pollutants like dust mites and pollen. Indoor pollutants include house dust, which is a hay fever triggering allergen. Dust mites are present in every house and usually settle on mattresses, pillows and carpets. House dust usually comprises of human skin scales, food particles, and hair and fabric fibers. Ridding the house of this huge daily debris of dust is a surefire method of containing a major hay fever allergen. Actually it is the excrement of the dust mite, which triggers allergic reactions; this excrement is water-soluble. Thus the best way to diminish dust is to use a wet cloth for cleaning the house.

Dust and hay fever

Since dust is ubiquitous and settles everywhere from the furniture to upholstery, from couches to carpets, a meticulous daily cleanliness regimen is necessary. Vacuum cleans the house and uses a wet cloth to wipe the dust from furniture. Again, use a wet sponge for your walls and a wet mop for your floors. Remember that no part of your home is immune to the dust mites. The house dust mite is a living organism that flourishes on human skin scales, which are, present everywhere. Water is the dust mite's first foe and should be liberally used to clean dust from windows, doors, and kitchen counters. Application of a wet cloth or a wet sponge is more effective than a simple brushing with a dry cloth; this merely redistributes dust. A weekly program of intensive house cleaning should be adhered to. Attack dust wherever it gathers; under the carpet, in bookshelves, on windowsills, on lampshades and curtains. This meticulous housecleaning will banish the dust mites and prevent hay fever attacks.

Summary

A wet cloth is an essential part of a house cleanliness project to banish dust. Gathering dust is the first culprit in a hay fever attack. Removing dust with a wet cloth may be a Herculean task requiring hard work; however, it benefits the house occupants by diminishing the incidence of hay fever.
